Mr. Sears assisted Mr. Barnett in directing the work of the Chapter. The Chapter awarded him with a small token to show their appreciation. Page 17

FFA Ends With Success Mack Janet, president of the Troy Chapter, led the group to an outstanding year. The Chapter was awarded the State Gold Emblem for the top OP]o of Kansas. The activities the Chapter held this year were Barnwarming. Public Speaking, and the District Dairy Contest. The main money-making projects for the 1976-77 year were the Citrus Fruit Sales and the Chicken Bar-B-Q Supper. The FFA Judging teams had a very good year at both District and State Contests. They placed first in Meats, second in Parliamentary Procedure, and third in Poultry, Horticulture, and FFA Information. These individuals who received special honors were Jim Neumann, State Farmer, and Mark Stock, District Secretary. The Chapter advisor for the year was Mr. Lloyd Barnett and Mr. Steve Sears, student teacher. Sam Brownback, National FFA Officer, was the guest speaker for the Banquet. ROW 1: Jim Neumann. Kayettes Get It Together A good year was started for the 1976-77 Kayettes with a slumber party at the high school for all members. In the fall, Sponsor Babetta Israel and five girls attended the Kayette Regional Conference at Olathe. The Kayettes sold candy bars for their money-making project and bought a Kansas flag to hang with the American flag they purchased last year for the C. W. Oliver Gymnasium. In January the Kay-Kayette unit conference was held at Troy. Kays and Kayettes from surrounding schools attended the conference. On April 29, a Kayette reunion was held. Kayettes from the past 10 years attended. » All members and their parents were invited to attend the installation banquet which ended the year for the Kayettes. FRONT ROW: D. Winzer. S. Sallee. G.
