Band Marches in Parades The THS marching band began the 1976-77 year at the Wathena Labor Day parade. Other fall activities the band participated in were the Missouri Western and Kansas State band days and the Hiawatha Halloween parade. A Christmas Concert was presented December 13, 1976. The director at the time was Mr. Glen Cunningham. The music department began the new year with a new teacher. Miss Mary Jean Schepers. The concert band presented a pre-contest concert and a spring ''Pops concert. The band also attended the League Instrumental Clinic at Horton and State Music Contest at Mankato. The band performed at a Veterans Day dinner for the American Legion. The stage band then participated in the Kansas State Jazz Festival on February 12.
