Fulk, Treasurer Director Clerk hecficaticH We wish to dedicate this Trojan annual to Miss Florence Rhudy, a very wise and deserving person. The conclusion of this year marks her thirtieth anniversary teaching mathematics, a goal accomplished worthy of praise. For twenty-six of these years it has been the privilege of Troy High School to have Miss Rhudy on its staff. Her patience and understanding has made her a favorite among students and faculty alike. To this lovely lady goes our salute of the year as a small token of our appreciation. The Annual Staff c. W. TROGDON, Prin. B.S. - KSTC, Pittsburg M.S. - Univ. of Mo. Algebra I ANNA M. On Sept. 1947, 47 shy little immature kids trouped through the halls of Troy High. Shy and cringing from our powerful upper- classmen, fearing the rumors we had heard about our initiation into this new way of life.” These rumors were pretty bad be- cause they left us minus a few. Well, the dreaded initiation finally came. We had our first wonderful party, sponsored by our upperclass Sophies.” Then, our final disaster came for the first time— final exams. We who survived them, became Sophomores. One year later, we were Juniors. Oh, and what a proud, privileged and sense-of-importance group we were. It will be found useful as the only means by which they can endure the Juniors. ITEMS---To the young and unsophisticated Freshmen we leave a map of the school building so that they will not get lost and roam about in everybody’s way looking for their classrooms. ITEMS---To the Glee Club and the Band we leave our ability to watch the leader and the audience at the same time. We may have lost a measure or skipped a beat in the music occasionally, but we never missed anything—or anybody—in the audience. ITEMS—To the Dear Old School Building, itself we leave the peaceful quiet caused by our absence and any apple cores, wads of gum, or crumpled notes we may have left behind. ITEMS---To our teachers, the Faculty of Troy High School, we hereby give free from all inheritance, luxury, or income tax, our entire store of knowledge. From them it came and to them it should be returned. INDIVIDUAL WILLS I, Mae Brenner, leave with everyone a hope that someday I will grow. I, Norma Delk, leave my ability to Love them and Leave them to Donna Horner. I, Rowena Dixon, leave my studiousness to Patty Sportsman with the sincere hope that she will use it to the best of her ability, which isn't saying much. I, Frances Bibb, leave my giggles to Margaret Meng. I, Earl Eastabrooks, leave my many seats in sixth hour study hall to the many unlucky students I'm leaving behind. I, Mary Flott, leave my 105 gaited horse to Mr. Crouch. May he be able to ride him better than I. I, Lynne Fuller, will leave my musical ability to anybody who can use it to his ad- vantage. I, Shirley Folsche, leave to my revered cousin Ann, a deep regret (?) that I won't be back next year. We, Bernadine Ford and Norma Nitz, leave to next year's Trojan editor our ability to get the paper out on time. May they use it better than we have. I, Myron Jeschke, leave my singing ability to the Glee Club. I, Betty Lewis, leave my quiet voice to Patt Mullin, with hopes that the teachers may be heard above her next year. I, Jack Masters, leave my long curls to any nice young lady who can use them. It's a load off my mind. I, Jack Mallory, leave my well groomed hair to Bobby Hanlan. I, JoAnn Masters, leave with Phyllis Clary my brown eyes which will go well with her blond hair. I, John Mallory, leave my athletic ability to George Davis. I, Marceline Miller, leave my little sister Patty behind. I, Donald McClelland, leave nothing, no one ever left me anything. I, Francis Neumann, leave my horse and wagon. Johnny Bracken may be able to keep them loncer. than he has his ford. I, Beverly Scott, leave my immense height to some tall fellow like Billy Wykert. I, Eddie Scarbrough, leave my typing ability to the Junior class—ten words per minute. I, Shirley Smith, will leave... I, Richard Stahl, leave with all the girls my wonderful ability to become a house- wife. I, Marjorie Trant, leave my dependability to Betty Harter. I, Donna Williams, leave my friendliness to Peggy Jo Meerpohl. CLASS HISTORY Continued from Page 7 sented the best Junior play ever created and dramatized. Now we came to our Senior year, the greatest year in the history of our class. We began taking things more seriously. As this year drew to a close we found ourselves just dizzy with dignity. Out of 47, only 26 survived to shed their shyness and resume responsibility. It may be we have erred on the side of restraint in writing this history, but it is our privileged opinion to think that the class of '51 is the most brilliant and attractive of any class known to history and will always be remembered by the very capable faculty of Troy High and to the people of the town as that wonderful class of 1951. —12— ClaAA prophecy It is the year 1961 and as I glance over the magazine Personalities of Ameri- ca of which I am co-editor, I see some of my old classmates in the headlines. Asiwe thumb through the magazine we see that Francis Bibb is now a bathing suit model for the J. C. Penny Clothing Co. Well, well, it seems that Mae Brenner is now the U. S. best typist and has got- ten offers from the leading firms. Well, here’s my old neighbor, Norma Delk. She’s married again and we hope it sticks this time. They say the third time is the charm. Rowena Dixon is now head nurse at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Earl Eastabrooks is head mechanic at the Ford garage in Troy. We see that Mary Flott is one of America's outstanding authorities on horses, and is now an expert at riding them. Shirley Folsche owns the King ranch and a large herd now—her childhood dream came true. Bernadine Ford and Jack Masters' are happily married. Silent Jack and Bashfull Bernie are still the same. Lynne Fuller is an accordonist with the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra. Myron Jeschke is now coaching a pro-basketball team called The Chickens. Betty Lewis is married and lives in Burr Oak township with her family of twelve. JoAnne Masters is now librarian for the New York Library of Natural History. Jack Mallory—well, it looks as if old Jack gets around. He was singing duets with Roy Acoff and now he is Mr. America for 1961. John Mallory is still trying to break his own world’s record which he set back in 1954. And, of course, we see Smiling Don McClelland the used car dealer. Marceline Miller is now a hostess for Contenental Airlines and is doing very well, we hear. Frances Neumann now owns and operates the St. Joseph Junk Yards, Inc. We received a letter from Norma Jean Nitz the other day, and we hear that she is a missionary in the Belgin Congo. Beverly Scott is now a teacher of advanced algebra at Blair High School. As we look at the local news we see where Erma Sharp has been teaching history at the Highland Junior College for the past six years. As we look at the Hollywood news we see where Marjorie Trant and Harry Carey were recently married. Well, well, this could be expected-Donna Williams and her beloved Colonel, Glen Losson of the U. S. Air Force, were married yesterday. Well, that's the way it goes, they say. Here we sit brooding over old memories and a bankrupt magazine. Eddie Scarbrough Dick Stahl P.S. Some say that you can live on old memories, but we think a buck would come in handier. —13— Class Patricia Mullen, President Louise Sutton, Vice President —14- Char les Calnan Cleo Chavez Robert L.
