Without their help, we would not be this far on our road of life. We have always had their sincere devotion, their deepest sympathy, their understanding advice, and their patient and unselfish efforts in helping us to achieve a higher goal. Along with the dedication we also wish to express our sincere thanks to all our teachers and friends and anyone else who have aided us in any way. Without their aid, we probably would never have stepped so far as to put out an annuaL one of our last official acts as members of Troy High School. vs- .vvv f,.:, f:.f-4w4as.1e1.-., ' s ' ' 'y f r '- - s 5 y . Just as everyone does while still in school, we many times wished 3 they had been over sooner. Now that they are over, they seem like four very 2 short years. Some of us may think we will never miss school. Next year when E the school bell rings calling the other students back to school we will prob- 5 ably wish we were going back with them. 2 01 The seniors have chosen the following poems as their epitaphs: 5 Betty Jean Snyder: Let ue then be up me doing, with e heart for any fate, Still achieving, still pursuing , 3 Learn to labor and to wait. Q E Malinda Meunier: Be still, sad heart! and cease repiningg Behind 2 the clouds is the sun still shiningg Thy fate 5 is the common fate of all, Into each life some S rain must fall, Some days must be dark and Q dreary. Q Juanita Engelbrecht: Not enjoyment, and not sorrow, Is our destined Q end or way, But to act, that each tomorrow find 5 us farther than today. 5 Priscilla Cravens: My schooldays have ended, With a gay sunset, I 3 have enjoyed them all, And hold not one regret. 2 Along with the fun, the jey and sorrow, w111 2 Today Decide Tomorrow. 3 S Margorie Winkler: Lives of great men all remind us, We can make I our lives sublime, And departing leave behind 5 us, Footprints on the sands of time, Footprints 2 that perhaps another, Sailing o'er life's Q solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, E Seeing shall take heart again. S S Lee Moshenek: You to the left and 1 to the right, For the ways of men must sever--And it well may be for Q a day and a night, And it well may be forever. ' But whether we meet or whether we part, For our 5 ways are past our knowing, A pledge from the 5 heart to its fellow heart on the ways we all ' are going! Here's Luck! For we know not where 2 we are going. Clara Lamar: Success is failure turned inside out--The sil- 5 ver line of the clouds of doubt--And you never 5 can tell how close you are, It may be near when S it seems afarg So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--It's when things seem worst ' that you mustn't quit. 5 fi ssN1oR crass EPITAPH When we compare 5 What we have lost with what we have 5 gained, 2 What we have missed with what attained, Q Little reem do we find for pride. 2 We are aware But who shall dare 5 How many days have been idly spent, To measure loss and gain in this wise? Q How like an arrow the good intent Defeat may be victory in disguise, 5 Has fallen short or been turned aside. The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.
