CLASS HISTORY When the freshman class entered Troy High School in 1944, the surprisingly large nu ber of thirty-eight pupils enrolled. The members of this class were, Catherine Lindauer, Hazel Howe, Richard Palmer, Lola las Sauter, laytha Bolin, Clara Gerlach, Albert Gross, Ruth Collignon, Cora Cash, Helen Schulthise, Linus Linne, Wilbur Scarboro, Marion Brumfield, Lee Hoshenek, Robert Mulzer, Joe Det- zer, Allen Mills, Norma Engelbrecht, Leroy Huff, Bonita Cash, Anastasia Braun- ecker, Carl Wanninger, Vera Winkler, Victoria Schmitt, Bill Rust, Jo Ola Ald- ridge, Joann Lawalin, Eugene Humphrey, Norman Young, Charles Kuntz, Bernard Patmore, Theresa Hessig, Theresa Epple, Anna Mullen, Marietta Strobel, Irene Harrison, Frances Roby, and Charles Hattenbach. Frances Roby moved to Kentucky during the year and James Pearson entered our class about the same time. This was an exceptionally large class for Troy High School and everyone hoped that all the members would complete their schooling. Our class officers were, president Marion Brumfield,vice-president Leroy Huff, treasurer Ruth Collignon, secretary Hazel Howe, and student council mem- bers Jo Ola Aldridge and Albert Gross. Our newe reporter was Bonita Cash. For our class sponsor we chose Mr. Walk. Hazel Howe won a sewing award and Cath- erine Lindauer won first prize in the style show, The number that returned to our class ln the Sophomore year was thirty- four. Several members did not return to school and some new members entered our class. Sarah Weedman, J. Q. Weedman, Paul Hasterson, Kenneth Wlttman, and William Fulkerson were the new members of our class. Eugene Humphrey, Norman Young, Theresa Hessig, Charles Kuntz, Bernard Patmore, Theresa Epple, Anna Mullen, Irene Harrison, and Marietta Strobel were those who did not return to our class this year. The class officers were: president Joe Detzer, vice-president James Pear- son, secretary-treasurer Hazel Howe, and student council members Ruth Collignon and Albert Gross. Ruth Collignon was also news reporter. Our sponsor for our sophomore year was Miss conway. The members of the class that did not return for the Junior year were, Sarah Weedman, Allen Kills, Victoria Schmitt, and Charles Hattenbach. Sarah Allen, and Victoria did not re-enter school and Charles attended Tell City High School in his junior year. The class had now narrowed down to thirty members slnoe no new members had entered the class. In our Junior year the class officers elected were: president Joe uetzer, vice-president Jo Ola Aldridge, secretary-treasurer Ruth Colllgnon, and student ouncil members Bonita Cash and Paul Masterson. The news reporter in our jun- gor year was Hazel Howe, Mr. Edward Munier was chosen as our junior class sponsor. Ruth Collignon won the activities medal and typing award, H e 1 en Schulthise won the shorthand award, Hazel Howe won the sewing award and Albert Grosn won a scholarship medal. This year, our Senior year, the enrollment for our class was twenty-nine. Since the beginning of school however, two members of the class have quit. Joann Lawalin has quit school and Ferd Kleeman has returned to school at Tell City after having entered our class at the beginning of the year. The class officers this year are as followsg president Joe Detzer, vice- preeident Leroy Huff, secretary-treasurer William Rust, and student council members Ruth Collignon and Paul Masterson. Mr. Leonard Hall was chosen as class sponsor for this year. Anastasia Braunecker won the D. A. R. contest in our school this year. Ruth Collignon was elected cheer leader this year. The class motto that we have chosen this year is, MAKE RESULTS:NOT EX- CUSES. Sweet Peas were chosen as the class flower and the class colors are blue and white. The valedictorian for our class is Albert Gross and the saluti- torian is Bill Rust. Of the original thirty-eight members of the class, twenty-seven have remained and are now ready to graduate, Our Baccalaureate speaker will be Reverend Peters, the Commencement speaker will be Mr. H. H. Bailey of Illinois, and Father Diezman will deliver the invocation and benedictlon at Commencement. . ... .
