'n'-'W 7F'wTw1 l Aiiiiwiiih . MR. WAGNER--AGRICULTURE Dear Board Members: I have lived in the city all of my life. I have never seen a farm, but I have seen movies about them and I have studied them very well in books. I know an egg from a cowg I can teach the pup- ils why they can raise cane in Cuba but not in Troy. I like candy and soda so I could start up a pop stand, which would be a success, I am sure. Your farm genius, Mr. Wagner M . AUWARTER--COACH AND HISTORY Dear School Board: Although I've only been to several other towns besides my own, and don't know much about them, I'm sure I could teach history at your school. I know Columbus discovered America in 1491 B C and that Roosevelt is our present pres- ident. I am sure I would also make a good coach and the boys would all like me, although I did keep the bench warm when I was still at school. Well, what do you say? Your future coach .- ,aw MISS HALL--HOM ECONOMICS Dear Board: I can cook very good which you will find out later. Some of the things I can do are: bike, boil water without burning it, fry an egg without making it scrambled, and make gravy lwhich is hard for some people to del. I can al- so sew a few things. I made the dress I have on and if you accept my applica- tion I will show you some of the things in person. Very truly yours, Miss Hall MR. BRUCKER--MATHEMATICS Dear School Board Members: I would like to teach at your school because I know I could outdo any other teacher there. 'I know other ways of working problems which aren't even in the book. Even if the solution 1sn't always right, it's only the answer that counts anyway. I always say, 'Is that not so?n Please consider my application which won't be much of a problem. From 'Bring your problems to me and and I'll solve them', history teacher, Alfred P. I hope you will con- sider my application very closely. All great men seem to have been born in the month of February. I, too was born in that month. The great eman- cipator, Abraham Lincoln and I were born on the same day, February 22, but a few years apart,so consider my appli- cation. X Forever Yours, Royal Lincoln MR. VARNER--BAND Dear Board Members: If you are not yet music lovers, you will be when I come to your school. I can play any instrument but a trom- bone, claronet, oboe, and flute, which aren't important anyway. I can play the scale from the front and from the back on the piano and can play the saxophone without any complaining from the neigh- bors. I'm not saying anything about my singing, because to lead a band, you do not have to have a voice. Please give me a chance, because when I get mad I can really teach your children to play. Sincerely Yours, Mr. Varner a

MISS HERRON--ENGLISH AND SPEECH Dear Board: I am wantin' a job for myself. I'm not very good at makin' speeches but I could try.I am patriotic to two states. I live in Kentucky but my home is in Tennessee. You see, it's this way: the Tennessee line is right in front of my house but I went to school in Kentucky. I have some actin' ability, but not, much. I once appeared in a play when I was a freshman. I could try to organize a Dramstics Club, if you will only give me a chance. I'd try very hard to be a successful teacher. Very truly yours, Miss Herron MISS BAKER--LATIN AND ENGLISH Dear, dear, dear Board Members: Having heard of your vacancy of a English teacher, I am ready to qualify for the job. Being very sweet to my pupils is one of my peculiarities. I am just what you are looking for in a Lat- in instructor too. So you can just call me a two in one teacher. My Latin in- structors used to tell me I was a very bright girl in the freedom of speech line. Singing is one of my talents so .iiiiiiik I could teach your wonderful boys and girls singing. I also play the piano perfectly which makes me very unanimous for the job. Affectionally, Miss Baker MR. KETRING--PRINCIPAL Dear Board Members: You have the opportunity to hire me as the principal of your school and as a very competent teacher. As you can see for yourself, I am really good as I can be three things at once--princ1- pal, sociology teacher, and junior bus- iness instructor. Now, what do you say, do you want a 'Superman'at your school? If so, I will be glad to phone you col- lect if you would want to talk to me. Very truly yours, Mr. Ketring L13
