,,.-Q-.-.,-7-ye. .., - ,-, Aiitiiat EXERPTS FROM THE HIGH LIGHTS October Edition THE VALUE OF A SCHOOL NEWSPAPER After doing a lot of thinking and conversing, the High Lights Staff has decided to publish a school paper. This is one thing I always thought a school needed and I'm sure our newspaper is going to be liked by students as well as any other paper. To show a loyal spirit toward your school, all you Trojans should sub- scribe for our paper which we have con- tinued to call 'The High Lights'. Many things happen in classes in school that neither you nor your par- ents ever hear about. I advise you to subscribe for 'The High Lights' and I guarantee you won't miss a thing. There will be many things published in 'The High Lights' that will not be found elsewhere. November Edition SPECIAL HONOR ROLL Five A's---Millie-Marie Collins Four A's---Jacque Evans Three A's--James Wlttman Rachel Boston THE TROJAN Miss Lenz has selected the staff for the annual, 'The Trojan', for this year. December Edition TROY DEFEATS HIGHLAND The Troy high school basketball team defeated the Highland team in a fast and furious game last Friday even- ing in the Troy gym by a score of 42 to 28. The game was a rough one and fouls were the rule rather than the ex- ception, eighteen being chalked up dur- ing the progress of the game. Stein led the Trojans with a total of six field goals and five free throws and Maden was second with six field goals and one free throw. F. F. A. HONORARY DEGREES A special meeting was called the third period for formal initiation of the new teachers to the honorary degree. The teachers initiated were Mr.Brucker, Mr. Siefferman, Mr. Anwarter, and Mr. Wagner and Mr. Ketring had already been initiated. January Edition CHRISTMAS PARTY A Christmas party for the entire school took place in the gym of the school on Dec. 19. Music of a nickelo- deon was furnished by Gene Stein. Danc- ing continued until the games started. A ong the games there was a 'thread the needlen contest in which Delbert Hanke, Bob Droy, Dick Howe, and Leonard Hood competed. Contestants were to sit upon a jar, placed on its sides, with the heel of one foot upon the toes of the other. During this time, they were sup- posed to thread a needle. The game was never finished to disclose a winner be- cause the jar couldn't stand the strain of Dick Howe's we1ght.Therefore the jar and Dick downward plunged. Several boys were initiated into the 'Gitzi-G1tzi- Goo Club.' February Edition SNOOPIN' AROUND Why did Norma B wear ski pants all day to school on January 25? ----- - D068 Marvin Stock like our xylophone player?
