Aiiiixiiit t SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Colors: Orchid and silver Motto: Today decides tomorrow Flower: White gardenia ACT I Time: 1937 Place: McCray-Dewey Township H1 School iRows one and two The curtain rose on fifteen boys and fifteen girls who entered asnfresh- iesn at Troy High. There they were the center of attraction, seated in the freshman rows. When they organized they selected Miss Lenz as advisor and A1 Weider as president. The first time they made their appearance was in a play under the direction of Miss Koen- eke. The two social events of the year were a Valentine Party and a hike to Langewisch's pasture. ACT II Time: 1958 Place: Rows three and four of Troy High School As sophomores the class began with great enthusiasm, the second act of the drama of school life. Three of the mem- bers, Laurence Gusewelle, Alvera Weise- meyer, and Iola Carter dropped out, but the number was soon raised to twenty- nine, with Lorine Wagner and Charles Gebhart.' Mr. Wagner was selected as class advisor and Millie-Marie Collins as president. The social events of the year were a hike, skating party, and a party at school. ACT III Time: 1959 Place: Rows five and six of Troy High School September met the class as juniors and mighty juniors with the weight of many subjects and extra-curricular re- sponsibilities upon their shoulders. From the beginning they were industri- ous, working on the play and planning for the first prom ever given in Troy High. The play, nCampus Quarantinen, was a tremendous success with lots of laughs. This year, Mr. Seifferman was chosen class advisor and Delbert Hanke, president. ACT IV Time: 1940 Place: Senior Home Room---The English- Latin Room Now the characters of this drama are twenty-five seniors who have their superiorities. president--Lester Frangen, Secretary-- 'Tubes' Bertorello, Treasurer--Berniece Gerstenecker. In November, a boom of a comedy, 'Spring Fever', was presented but the booms d1dn't destroy the reven- us of it. In the latter part of Novem- ber, Millie-Marie had the honor of be- ing basketball queen, with the follow- ing senior girls attending her: Pauline Schmerbauch, Virginia Koch, and Eloise Schoon. Soon afterward our good pal Audrey left us for greater St. Louis and Mike Ebl. Eloise Schoon was then chosen to take her place as president. At present, the seniors are look- ing forward to the thought of Commence- ment. They are eagerly anticipating this, for it is the beginning of the greatest drama, LIFE. Virginia Koch SENIOR PROPHESY Time: 1961 Place: White House at Washington D. C. Characters: Seniors of 1941 The honorable JAMES BERTORELLO now President of these United States, and the first lady of the land, the former VIRGINIA KOCH, are seated in front of their television-equipped radio ready to enjoy a quiet evening at home. Yes. .iiiii ia 'Tubes2 as he is still known to his in- timate friends, had promised to say no- thing for a whole even1ng,so he presses the button for the 'Variety Hour', they settle back in their chairs and hear the voice of MARVIN MAY, who is quite a radio announcer. He looks as he did in the senior play with his blonde must- ache and goatee which he swore he would never wear. Along with his radio an- nouncing,he is quite well known for his nfudgef Tonight people are walking in- to his studio to be questioned by Mar- vin as to their whereabouts and occupa- tions. LESTER FRANGEN, who owns the Troy Dairy, first man on the program is running for Governor of Illinois on the Republican ticket so he thought that he would talk over the radio in order to get accustomed to it. Next is our old classmate, LAVERN CAPELLE, and she says in her feminine voice but with a determined look on her face, 'I'm that 'scoop reporter' of the Edwardsville Intelligencer. ELOISE SCHOON follows her and she is now an opera singer and is going on the road and will give a one-evening performance in her home town. MR.
