JAMIES H. HOUSER GALEN SAUL ROBERT BROWER Graduate of Troy High School. 1942 class. En- listed in Army Air Corps: attended Ohio Uni- versity for two years. Killed February 5, 1944 by crash of plane in Arkansas. CHARLES TAMPLIN Graduate of Troy High School, 1941 class. En- listed as a cadet under the Merchant Marine Corps and was working for Naval Reserve Offi- cer rank. Was on board ship, Richard Bland, and had been sailing between Murmansk and United States. Was under fire for 5 days and was finally dive bombed on March 10, 1943 and ship was sunk. DELMAR BISER Graduate of Troy High School in 1934 and from Miami University in 1941. Enlisted in Army Air Corps and was commissioned a second lieu- tenant, later a Ilrst lieutenant, and then a cap- tain. Killed in a plane crash on December 9, 1942. WILLIAM FOSYTHE, JR. Graduate of Troy High School in 19425 enlisted in Army Air Corps October 26, 1942, and was graduated as an aerial tail gunner. Was sent overseas July 1943 on a B-17 bomber. Became a sergeant. Was llrst reported missing in the Schwelnfurt raid on October 14, 1943 and was later reported killed when his plane was shot down in that battle. JACK EDWARD FERGUSON Attended Troy High School from September 1934 to .June 1936. Killed in action as Marine on Guadaalcanal on February 5, 1943. Graduate of Troy High School in 1937. Enlisted in Army Air Corps and was graduated as a second lieutenant. Was sent to England as pilot of P-51 Thunderbolt. Made a number of flights over France and Germany, and finally was injured in a crash when returning to Eng- on Guadalcanal on February 5, 1943. EDWARD WOOLERY Attended Troy High School from 1928 to 1929. 1st Lieutenant, Commanding Officer of Squad- ron in Army Air Corps. Killed in action in Pa- cific area. Had been recommended by General MacArthur for Captaincy. HENRY ALLEN Graduated from Troy High School in 1939. At- tended Purdue University and Boeing School of Aeronautics prior to enlistment June 15, 1942. Killed March 17, 1944 in a plane crash in the South. EVERETT C. MICK Graduated from Troy High School in the class of 1941. Entered the service on February 2, 1943. Was killed while returning to camp on March 26. 1944. HOWARD M. WATKINS Graduated from Troy High School ln 1924. He entered the 13th engineers of the U. S. Army and saw service on Attu and Kiska Islands in the Aleutians: he also served in the Marshall and Gilbert Islands raids. He was killed in the Southwest Pacific area when a hand grenade went off accidentally. ' ' Y :addon ROBERT O'NEAL JAMES D. SOWRY Attended Troy High School in 1936-1937. En- listed in the Navy and fought through several battles in the early part of the war. Was on cruiser, Edsall, during battle of Java Sea when that ship was sunk. HARRY LORIMER Attended Troy High School in 1925 to 19283 reported missing in action on Bataan. Graduated from Troy High School in the class of 1934. He joined the Army Air Corps and be- came a navigator on a B-17. He was reported missing on September 27, 1943, when he failed to return after a mission over Germany. Wea Graduate of Troy High School in 1937. He at- tended Miami Universlty and graduated from there in 1941 with a degree in Business Admin- istration. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps, was later commissioned a second lieutenant and sent to England as the navigator on a bomber. Was reported missing in action after the Schweinfurt, Germany, raid of October 13, 1943. Later he was reported a prisoner of war.
