Sim Acton: Sim is a 5’-11’’ Sopho- more who was the answer to the fifth man on the starting team. Sim keeps very calm and cool under pressure as he proved in the State Tournaments. With his sharp passes and timely shots, he should be a major factor in the coming year. SF Ge i A : 1955 -- REGIONAL = “B ™ CHAMPIONS 4 — a | “™ , Jim Murdock: Although Jim is only 5’-5’’ he was an all important man on the team. The scrappy ‘‘Mighty Mite’’ was a sharp-shooting crowd pleaser. Jim had 268 points for an 11.2 average and patrolled his guard spot with great skill. Jim was onthe All-League team and 2nd SOC team; and will be greatly missed next year. Jack Acton: Jack, a Senior, was on the All-League team, all SOC team and was honorably mentioned on the - All-State team this year. This 6’-13”’ forward had 365 points for a 15.9 point per game average and set the SOC record and team rec- ord of 46 points for one game. His uncanny reach allowed him to f : out-rebound many boys taller than 1 he and block many shots. Jack’s excellent ball handling gained him a starting berth for 3 years on the = Varsity squad. Jack was a fine Cap- — tain and will be missed by all. —— } | a ul | Bill Benson: A 5’-9’’ Senior Guard, Bill was a steady man at his position. He had a nice set shot and stylish floor play. Bill played his best against Lake Orion. Floyd Bailey: Standing at 6’-2”’ Floyd played a fine brand of ball all season. His markmanship, with hook shots and his hustling rebound- ing was a vital part of this year’s Rex Moore: Senior forward, Rex Moore, who stands at 6’ supported the team excellently. Ray Podulka: Standingat5’-7’’ Ray was a good pressure player at his guard spot. Although he was handi- capped by an overload of talent at his position, he is expected back next year stronger than ever. Richard Clippard: Dick’s best game was against Birmingham where he played a well rounded game. This 5’-10’’ guard was a competent sub- stitute and showed a lot of fight and spirit. Bill Swinson: A 5’-9’’ Junior forward who will be with Troy again next year. Bill has contri- buted much in his first year on Varsity. George Catto: Georgehasatwo- hand set shot which is coming along fine. He is 5’-8’’. George will be back next year better than ever. Richard Kelly: Richard will leave definite marks in the memories of Troy fans in the following years. The 5’-10’’ Sophomore is an excel- lent rebounder for his size. 1955 ce WN) PL Uely CHAMPIONS George Burnard: George,aSenior, came up fast in the end of the year and really showed his ability. The 6’-1’’ center helped out quite a bit with his rebounding and classy jump shots.
