The freshman year was entered with high hopes and ideas for the future. It seemed that we attended school unnoticed, but this notion faded when “Initiation Day” arrived. Soon after- wards we were allowed to attend dances and participate in the high school activities. Upon entering the tenth grade, we found that school isn’t all fun and frolic. Paper drives, the selling of seeds, skating parties, and dances were organized to raise money for our treas- ury. With the help and cooperation of the sophomores from each school, a neat sum was stacked away to help us the following year. Our junior year proved to be eventful. The age old rivals, Log Cabin and Big Beaver, joined forces under the name of Troy. Black and silver were elected to become Troy’s colors and the building of the new school was soon underway. The juniors of both schools met to- gether at Big Beaver and selected a gladiator for the crest on their rings. The juniors of Big Beaver presented their class play, “Ghost Wanted” in March. The cast included: Donald Piotrowski, Eric Ernest, Mary Herweyer, Jackie Tolbert, Audrey Dittmer, Loren Epler, Margaret Stumpf, Junior Gardner, JoAnn Watts, Lily Clipper, Grace Wells, Toni Kage, and Art Dear. Prompters were Joyce Bronson, Sally Dale and Delores Klusendorf. Make up director was Miss Smith; her assistants were Evelyn Felmlee, Noren Williams, Annette Rothwell, Irene Cook and Johanna Woolsey. The audience was held spellbound throughout the play and it came to a dramatic climax. Mr. Wooster did a fine job in directing the play, which was a great success. In April, “Shoot the Works” was presented by the Log Cabin juniors. The following stu- dents were members of the cast: Norm McComb, Dolores Serafini, Roberta Scheall, James Gamble, Kathleen McPeek, Betty Bently, Carl McLellan, Leland Lambert, Arthur Hallenbeck, Patricia Doherty and Gordon Wolven. Mrs. Hill directed the play which was a hit. The play was a three act comedy andthe humor of the play set the audience wild with laughter. Log Cabin held its Junior-Senior Prom at Sylvan Glen on May fifth. On the same date, Big Beaver held its Junior-Senior Prom at Elk’s Temple in Royal Oak with Bill Gail’s orchestra entertaining. In the fall of 1951, we reached our coveted goal, to be Seniors. A class meeting was held and officers were elected. The following students were chosen; President Eric Ernst, Vice- president Jim Gamble, Treasurer JoAnn Watts, Secretary Grace Wells. The senior play “Sound Your Horn,” was presented on March 30. The cast was: Craig Nelson, Evelyn Felmlee, Audrey Dittmer, Junior Gardner, Lily Clippert, Gloria Budd, Virginia Duncan, Eric Ernst, Loren Epler, and Delores Klusendorf. The play was a three act comedy and it was packed with laughs. Mr. Smink directed the play which proved to be a great success. Miss Earla Smith, our class advisor, did much to promote our senior activities.
