Treasurer Bill Lear, Reporter Samoa Glafu Jloilaaq The serrror class with air enrollment of 60 is the largest class yet to graduate from Madison Mrs Clark was our advrsor durrng our Junior year and she got along so well with us that she became our senior advisor October 4 and 5 the whole senior class went down to Howard Knolls studio to have class pictures taken Our class has been exceptionally busy as rndrvrduals For example we haye 8 bovs on the football team 8 bovs playrng yarsrtv basketball 8 boys on the baseball diamond and 12 track boys As for musrc the senror class rs a major contributor of talent 19 of us were rn the Minstrel 10 seniors are rn the band 11 rn the orchestra and 14 rn the mrxed chorus Of the sri: superior ratrnffs recery ed rn the state music con test 3 were for serrrors One of our memb rs Lowell Rogers has organized hrs own dance band which played for assemblies 24 senrors have received school letters for their various actrvrtres during their high school years The senrors also excell rn scholarshrp We recerved 8 of the 21 certificates gry en from the state scholarship tests We also recery ed 4 awards from the Senior Scholarship Tests The senrors were often vrsrted by salesmen From them we got our announcements and name cards Several trmes we were called together to hear talks on our plans for the future Aprrl 28 and 29 were the dates for the senior play It was a mystery eomedv vyrth a cast of 13 Under the drrec tion of Mrs Clark and Delores Harlow we staged an excellent production It concerned the events that occurred at a yacant house on New Years eve As a class the seniors presented a drrnkrnv fountain to the school The fountain rs to be rrrstalled rn the football stadium The grft was gryen rn the form of a pledge On Class Nrght the senrors drsplayed their yarrous talents We seniors certainly did enjoy the Junior Senior Ban quet and prom Sunday night May 25 we absorbed the baccalaureate sermon on Dreams It was grven bv Rey Frsher The next night the Commencement address was giyen by Rey Zrmmann He wove a marvelous address around our class motto Dare To Be Different He challenged use rn the followrng ways be plastic not frantic be cosmic not cosmetic be crrtrcal not hypocritical be sprrrtual not biological After this the seniors receryed their awards So ended our serrror year 10 n o -. , I 7 .'
