I REMEMBER THAT ..... ROTT started the year off with a bright new look. It was not only the new interior painting but also the enrollment of the chemistry and nursing girls. Trott, now for the first time in about five years, truly has become a co-ed school. The registration this year proved to be larger than last year's. There were a total of 440 students of which 36 were girls. The faculty of Trott also had a new look with the registration of five new teachers. They are Mrs. Mary Duke, Health, Food and Nutrition, and Practical Nursing: Mr. John Hadden. Music: Mr. John Kovach, Englishg Mr. Frederick Knapp, Mathematics and Blue Print Reading, and Mr. Samuel Hornbeck, Drafting. Mr. Hornbeck replaced Mr. Herbert Downs. The Student Council waded right into the problems of the school with great enthusiasm. Advisor for Student Council was Mr. Hudspith. President was Jerry Barksdaleg Secretary, Edgar Townsend, and Treasurer, Larry Langdon. Along with the help of the Trott Activity Club they were able to give a Valentine dance to raise money for the cheerleaders uniforms. They also had great success when they sold sweatshirts. In September Trott Topics came out again and this time was a better and bigger news- paper. The paper sparked by Louise Higgs, Sylvia Curtis and Judy Conte, had the help of William Trump, Jerry Barksdale, Diane Villone and Josephine Abdullah. Advisor for the pa- per was Mr. Toole. Also in September came the reorganization of the Camera Club under the supervision of Mr. Toole. Membersof this club have taken pictures of the basketball and football games, dances and pictures for the yearbook.
