AnoTher reason we have for being especially proud of The band. was The honor oT iTs being selecTed by The Lion's Club To lay Tor Their producTion oT Big l-learTed Herbert and a series oT plays presenTedDby The Evening School DramaTic SocieTy. RecenTly, in connecTion wiTh The newly organized saxophone quarTeT, The band pre- senTed a program of s ecial music aT The Masonic Temple where They were greeTed b a greaT ovaTion. They parTici aTed as usual in The annual TronTier music TesTival which was held This year aT LaSalTe High School. The Band is under The leadership of Mr. Emeri. GERMAN BAND The German Band, which performs in cosTume, is a very popular musical organiza- Tion. IT is in such consTa'nT demand ThaT iT has been unable To accepT many inviTaTions Tor public appearances. IT is made up oT six oT The mosT musically TalenTed sTudenTs of The school. They are Dominic Finocchi, clarineT: Lloyd PoTTer. clarineTg Philip Bosso, TrumpeTg Nick Zaccaria, Tuba: John Yaraszewicz, saxophone: George Finochi, clarineT. ' The organizaTion direcTed and developed by TroTT's musical insTrucTor, Mr. EmerT, in cooperaTion wiTh our accordianisT, Carmen PreviTe, has presenTed special music on The following occasions: The TroTT Alumni BaslceTball games: Lamen's AssociaTion BanqueT aT The FirsT Presbyierian Church: The CommuniTy ChesT BanqueT aT ST. Our s+udenr council is an execulive organizafion made up of 35 s+uden+s elec+ed by popular voie. The shops, and a large porTion oT TroTT's l-ligh School sTudenTs. The chorus enTerTained The school on Two occasions during The ChrisTmas and Thanksgiving programs. ' Due To The changing oT programs in January if was necessary To eliminaTe The chorus and malce iT inTo a Girls' and Boys' Glee Club. They meeT during school hours once a weelc. The Girls' Glee Club has abouT TwenTy-Tive Taking parT and The Boys have Ten in Their organizaTion. AT The annual FronTier Music FesTival under The direcTion oT The STaTe Supervisor of Music, Dr. CarTer, They sang Three numbers, En Messe. The Boys' Glee Club have also given a Tine showing This year by accomplishing Two very hard pieces. These are lnTeger ViTae, by Frederick F. Flemming, and Who Will O'er The Downs, by R. L. dePearsall. Mr. EmerT hopes ThaT nexT year The programs will be so arranged ThaT The Mixed Chorus will be able To conTinue all The year.
