Students Boogie Down at Seasonal Dances . L,L , it 9 ' , 2 3 This year's dances started off with the Football Home- coming dance on October 5, sponsored by the Student Council. Music was provided by WindfalI from Akron. The French Club held a rec- ord hop on November 2 with Paris as the theme. Couples danced to the mu- sic of Suntown from Fred- ericksburg at the Snowball dance on December 21. Cou- ples had the privilege of talk- ing to Santa Claus, alias W.J. Watson, our principal. On February 1 students came to boogie down at the Spanish Club Grease Hop. GAA sponsored the Heart Hop, a girl-ask-boy dance, on March 15. D - During a volleyball scrimmage between the fac- ulty and students, Mr. McCauley really gets into the action while Miss Schnei- der serves as back-up. Intramural sports kept stu- dents active this year as guys and girls participated in non- conference games. This year's intramural program started off with volleyball, as Haney's Hurricane won the champion- ship for the second year in a row. During Lunch periods a basketball free throwing con- test was held with Ron Culbert- son as the champ. Ping pong intramurals were also held during Lunch periods with each period having a winner. ln intramural basketball the faculty triumphed over each student team, however, the Golden Gophers were recog- nized as the runner-up. Mr. Angelo was the man behind the scenes who helped make intra- mural sports possible. F - Ping pong tournament champs of each lunch period are: 5th - Rick Martine, 6th - Denny Hackett, 7th - Mark Duell. G - lt's a battle of strength and skill as Mr. Zody and Ned Lytle struggle for possession of the ball. H - Steve Shaffer shows his athletic skill in volleyball as he returns a difficult serve.
