He attended Alfred University before entering the Navy and commencing flight training in Pensacola, Florida. He was commissioned an Ensign in 1974. His first tour of duty was as a station Search and Rescue pilot at NAS Bermuda flying UH- lN's. This tour was followed by tours in HSL 37 and HSL 3 l where he completed deployments in USS TRUXTUN CCGN 351 and the USS DAVID R. RAY CDD 9711. Follow on tours included COMCRUDESGRU THREE, HSL 33 and again at HSL 3 l as the FRS Executive Officer. These tours included deployments in the USS BARBEY IFF 10881 , USS KITTY HAWK CCV 635 and the USS LONG BEACH CCGN 93. A Captain Gallo served as both Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of HSL 33. ,Following his Commanding Officer tour, he served as Air Boss in the USS TRIPOLI QLPH 105. g Captain Gallo assumed the duties as an Executive Officer in USS TRIPOLI CLPH lOl in January of 1994. Captain Gallo's personal recommendations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal wl3 Gold Stars in lieu of Fourth Award and the Navy Achievement Medal wl l gold star in,lieu of second award. He is married to the former Terry Ciotti of Inwood, New York. They have one son, Arthur Graig
