glass fiijwlisinrg Bright and early on the fateful day in l9AO,Miss Nelson, the first grade teacher greeted 12 people. Those pupils were: Lowell Ambrose Marlys Koch Paul Bremer A -1: 1, Carol Mason Patricia Chapin HQ5,j3 Beverly Mueller Eharon Duecker W' Jean Sauerbrie loyd Goodenbour gy Leo Waterman Barbara Hesse Wayne Weihe During Grade school days, time passed quickly and soon they found themselves ready to start their high school days. A total of forty students started their Freshman year at Tripoli High. What a year it turned out to be! The first of the eventful days was Freshman initiation. The boys were in their fathers overalls, the girls wore their short skirts, and their hair beautifully styled in upsweeps. Smitty really shinned his share of shoes that day. They'll never forget the big Christmas dinner they had in the English room. The food was delicious! Everyone will remember the misteltoe in the doorway and all the excitement it caused. On the last day of school they all went to Waterloo for their class picnic. The class y or that year was Mrs. Lease. iI their Sophomore year they SPOUSOPSG the big school party. That year too, Lloyd received his bouquet of red roses in Biology Class. Miss Macy, the class sponspr, and the class went to Devils Backbone State Park for the picnic. The warning, Uno swimming was soon forgotten. They began their Junior year by ordering their class rings. Work was soon begun on the class play, 'Doctors Orders.' The date was set and then on that morning of November 9th their class rings arrived. If anyone, that night of the play, wondered why they were looking at their hands a lot it was just because they thought the rings were so Pretty. Work was soon begun on their prom, which was held in the Town Hall on May 2nd, with the theme being 'Holland Holiday.' Music was provided by Vance Dixon's Orchestra. They surely will all remember the arguements that took place when they were planning the prom. , Mrs. Steve Palmer and the class went to Cedar Fall: for their Class picnic. They'll remember the cold water when the boys wiht swimming. Brrrr! Now after all this they are Seniorsll What a privilege it was to initiate the Freshmen! On October the 28th the class went to Waterloo to have graduation pictures taken at Hollett's. Mr. Casey, their class sponsor, went with them. The Senior class play was given, and the class went on their skip day. Then came the last events of their high school days, Junior-Senior Banquet, Bagcalaureate, and Commencement.
