CLASS HISTORY In August of 1960 twenty-nine freshmen presented themselves to the students and faculty of Tripoli High School. Being greeted with smiles, we felt as if everything was going to be fine. Initiation Day came along--we had our doubts then. After all this excitement was over, we settled down to study and work hard. Being ambitious, we started right off on a grand money- raising campaign. August, 1961--Then came our big chance to initiate the freshmen. Everyone got a lot of en- joyment seeing them in their Roman togas. In great anticipation for our senior class trip, we remained a hard working class, making money every chance we could. August, 1962--Finally we were juniors. We had dropped in number to only twenty-six, but that made no difference, we were juniors and that was all that mattered. The junior and senior class plays were presented together this year. We had a lot of fun working with the seniors, and thanks to Mrs. Watson, the plays were a great success. Then the biggest event of our junior year, prom time, came. We picked Moon River as our theme. The gym was decorated with silhouettes on the walls, stars suspended from the ceil- ing, a beautiful moon and river scene on the stage. Our prom was a great success. The post prom was the following weekend, with another large tum-out. The Junior Class was a very happy class. We held our pulp cutting bee in the spring. We had a lot of people helping us, and even the girls got out into the brush and really worked. We proved that our class was hard-working group. August, 1963--We were seniors and we knew we were on the top. Together with the juniors we presented the junior and senior class plays. The seniors are looking forward to their class trip. We are going to Washington, D. C., Philadelphia, and New York City. We are especially excited about our class trip because we have been given the honored privilege of placing a wreath upon the grave of our late President John F. Kennedy when we visit it. Another great attiaction is the World's Fair in New York City. We are now twenty-nine strong again, nervously awaiting May 22, 1964, our graduation day. This will be the end of four happy years, the beginning of many more, and the taking of a big step--the step of graduating into a world of opportunities and responsibilities. We wish to thank Mr. Erpenbach, who was our advisor for the first three years, and Mr. Wasti, who has been our advisor for our last year, for their helpful advice and thoughtful con- sideration. 20
