I FIRDT avD SECOND September 1, 1942 was the first day of school for five boys and girls in the first grade They were Elmer Ray Garrison, Jimmie Levis, Sharleine Henderson, shirley Stobaugh and Wanda Zimmerman I March, 1942, we added two boys to our first grade roll They were Lloyd Jones and Paul Rinehart Lloyd came to us from Sedalia and Paul came from Brunsvick When school began for the second graders, there were eleven boys and girls enrolled They were Patricia Gallatin, Joan Gates, Lola Jennings, Richard Kahler, Robert Lee Kahler, Larry Koch, Jeannette and Gary Zimmerman In March, 1942, Joan Gates left our midst and moved to Mendon School Opal Jones from Sedalia came and our number of second graders remained eleven Ne have had parties throughout the year honoring the various holidays, namely Eallove' n, Valentines Day Easter and a picnic the last of school Ghri tmas time the iirst four grade present d an Operetta and each child received a gift oif the Christmas tree Those vho have not missed a day of school t is year are Shirley Stobaugh, Olivia sharp, and Dorothy Stice As the school year comes to a close, the first and second grader reel that they have had a very 2 successful year and wish for everyone a nice Vacation June Britt 1 r 7 1 , ,V K .. .L . , , A , I L f - - - . . .
