—SFenxewoard The aim of an annual staff is to preserve a record of a school year’s events through pictures and printed words. This is the purpose for its creation, and any ideals, ideas, and higher thoughts that it may foster are a by-product of this, important though they may be. So it has been with your 1948 MIRAGE. At the beginning of the year, the staff thought of the annual as work in terms of deadlines to meet and copy to write. However, as we worked with the students, listened to their ideas, caught their moods and attitudes through photography, and watched them grow in mind and in spirit, we slowly began to see the real Trinity. Into your book we have tried to present that intangible quality that became a part of us through knowing each of you—the Spirit of Tigerland!
