HE Varsity Cross Country Team, greatly weakened by gradua- tion losses. had only a mediocre season, winning one and losing three. lt was a building year. for the majority of the squad con- sisted of underclassmen. linder the excellent tutelage of Mr. Bal- V 't lentine, the team progressed. and by the end of the season he suc- y ceecled in forming a nucleus for the distance events in the spring, and for future cross country teams. Gordon Hubbell was outstanding, garnering two firsts, a second and a third in the four meets, Dave Bohrnan and llan Folsom showed definite romise. and along with Al Kissack and Bob Calkins are exZe 'ear's barriers.
