Well if you happen to be a student at Trinity, you know that spirit week is one of the most wild. weird, and fun weeks of the yeor. Spirit Week takes place the week before the Homecoming game. Each day of the week is named as something different and special. This year the most popular by far was Punk Out the Panthers Day. On 'this very different Tuesday, the Trinity campus was flooded by punks, Clothing was totally changed by this day, leopard skins, white hair, and of course Devo glasses, were often seen. This was the first year for punks at Trinity, but with participation so great it is sure to return. Other days students participated in during Spirit Week were College T-shirt Day, Prep Day, Pink Day, and ofcourse the traditional Red and Black Day. Spirit Week happened twice this year. The second Spirit Week was the week before the Dell game. This week's list of days started with Shade Out the Raiders Day, when everyone wore their shades. Nerd Day was a new one added this year and, as expected, Hat Day returned. The Spirit Week at Trinity was a fun way for students to get away from the day-to-day routine, and were participated in greatly. Opposite page left: Melanie Wllklnson shows off her prepplness. There are two holidays formally acknowledged by the THS students, Christmas and Valentine's Day. Many ac- tivities were planned for these special occasions. The Christmas spirit of caring and giving was created in a variety of ways. For one, the Student Council held a party for the less fortunate children of the area. The Christmas cards that were sent to student's second or third period classes were another big success. The faculty also par- ticipated in the exultant season by decorating classrooms and supplying a colorful tree in the Administration Office which enlightened seasonal spirits. Another holiday the students enjoyed was Valentine's Day. Sing-o-grams and kiss-o-grams were provided by the Student Council and carnations by the Senior Class. Students could send a humorous, mushy, or sarcastic sing-o-gram to anyone. Sending a carnation to someone special as a secret admirer developed the loving mood of Valentine's Day. The holidays and activities were enjoyed by both the students and the faculty. They provided a diversion to the regular hassles of the day.
