Checking the blood pressure of Senior Citizens was only one of the many health related activities performed by the Health Occupation Students of America CHOSAJ. The twenty-six students had jobs that were in some way related to the field of health service. The instructor of the club was Mrs. Connie Smart. She taught the students the rules and procedures dealing with most health occupations. After third period, the students went to their respective jobs and gain- ed an even greater understanding of their chosen field of study. The club did not participate in fund raising events. but they did serve their community in a number of ways. Fund raising projects dominated the year for Home Economic Careers Education. The club, which consists of students in the class HERO, sold pocket and poster calen- dars. They also kept up with the current craze by selling Rubik's Cube keychains. The club co-sponsored the Sammy Vaughn concert with the other vocational clubs. HOSA and HECE were only two of the many vocational clubs at Trinity that were designed to give students educa- tional and on the job training.
