The French Club had an exciting and interesting year. ln October, the group brought back the Travis Brothers' Band for an entertaining assembly and in March they sold M6M's. The Spanish Club enjoyed the year by visiting m00Y Spanish historical sites. They traveled to Dallas to study the Mexican culture in different parts of the city. The cathedrals they visited were beautiful sights taken in by all members. The German Club began the year by selling MGMS to help pay for the club T-shirts. They also attended Novemberfest at Paschal High School. It was an exciting event enjoyed by all. In December the club learned Christmas carols and had a party. To sum up the year's events the three clubs held a Tri- Language Dinner. This feast included dishes of the different lands. They were all prepared by the students and brought together in a smorgasbord-type meal. With this fun-filled dinner the year came to a close. Opposite page above: Jeneria Gobert enjoys German Club. They are the vivacious, ex- uberant and absolutely crazy individuals who came together and called themselves Young Life. They were peo- ple who knew their responsibilities as a Christian and how they should live their lives. Young Life provided many students with the warm Christian atmosphere that every heart desired. lt encouraged young people to live an over- coming and victorious life through the power of Jesus Christ. The main goal and purpose of Young Life was to challenge students to fellowship with one another and to promote a closer walk with God. lt also prepared them for life outside of school as well as during their high school years. Young Life met each Monday of the week for a time of singing, practical jokes, hilarious skits and an edifying lesson given by Joe Morgan, the Young Life sponsor. During this time, some of the members often had their spirits lifted after a hard day at school: others found their problems taken away and their worries dissolved. Young Life highlighted the year with many fun activities and events. Among them were: a barbecue picnic, a skiing trip to Colorado, and a scavenger hunt.
