Behold o Classical Band The Symphonic Band, which was directed by Mr. Neugent, performed, Gallante Dances, Enigma Varia- tions, and Storm and Sunshine for their U.l.L. program and earned a Sweepstakes Trophy. ln an earlier per- formance in Galveston at the Southwest Band Festival, they also received ones and got Outstanding Band, which was chosen from over sixty bands. The Concert Band, which was con- ducted by Mr. Harville, performed First Suite for Band, Court Festival, and Wycliff Variations they did an outstanding job being the only second band there receiving straight ones and a Sweepstakes Trophy. The Jozz Band performed at various junior highs and in the Lunch Bunch Series. Under the fine direction of Mr. Park the '81-'82 Jazz Band was one of the best Trinity has ever seen. 234 l .yoj '

lt's over, sighed band students. It had been a year of long blistering rehearsals during marching season and tedious rehearsals during concert season. Symphonic band member, Bart Stark, pointed out, lt gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment when l look back at the year. It also gives me the will and discipline to work harder and look forward to next year even more. Under the meticulous direction of Mr. Tom Neugent, Mr. Lawrence Harville, and Mr. Rick Park, the marching band superbly executed their U.l.L. marching show, which was held at U.T. Arlington, and received a 1, the highest honor given. ln addition to the first division rating, the THS Mar- ching Band also received a standing ovation. During mar- ching season, all three bands are combined, but in concert, they were divided into three separate bands. ln order to be in the THS band, an individual must have patience, a sense of responsibility, and an enormous amount of discipline.
