Take three dedicated teachers, many eager sophomores, plus a great deal of determination and hard work and what do you get? The Sophomore Executive Council. The main objective of the Council was to begin planning their senior prom and to start rais- ing the money to fund it. Under the leadership of sponsors Nelson Moore, Betty Riley, and Beverly Moore, the Sophs began fund- raising projects and ideas for the upcoming years. The Sophomores pulled together at the beginning of the year and created a fantastic float for the Homecoming parade and game. From that, they set out selling t-shirts with their class yell printed on it, followed by T plaques, MGM's, and their big project of the year, the litterbasket sales. The Council also sponsored dances, a day at the waterslide, and the Battle of the Bands. With class officers David O'Drien, Mike Humphrey, Darla Dowell, and Deelyn Donnelly, the class was led to an overall suc- cessful year. Many hours of long and hard work were involved in seeking to keep the class united and in raising money. However, in May of 1984, all of the time and effort will be rewarded.
