The Junior Executive Council had a very successful year actively and financially. Part of this was due to the dedicated sponsors Mrs. Diana Keown, Mrs. Barbara Ratts, and the new sponsor, Miss Nancy Richardson. Credit should also be given to officers Paul Waschka, Ricky Morgan, Laura Battle, and Jan Offield. And, of course. to the active par- ticipation of council members, which consisted of forty-five juniors. All of these devoted people assembled at meetings before school in Mrs. Ratts' room. They had the important task of deciding upon a location for a prom. Among those nominated were the Anatole, the Americana and the Adolphus. Items taken into consideration were: the will- ingness ofa place to hold a prom, the accommodations, and the cost. To help cushion the cost of a prom, the junior ex- ecutive council held some fund raisers. First, they sponsored a dance. Second, they had MGM sales in November and February. Another profitable project was their working at Texas Stadium at the beginning of the football season. With all of these activities, the junior executive council still had time to construct the winning homecoming float. All in all, the junior executive council had an exciting and prosperous year.
