QA as 0 X 33 . rv- Jwiifg , fly.. ,.1ffg,, The Student Council is an organization that was designed specifically to benefit Trinity High School and its student body. However, the Student Council is also an outstanding service organization for the teachers and the community. This year the Council officers and their sponsor Gerry Woods joined together to devise numerous projects to be done throughout the year. Realizing that the teachers are a vital part of Trinity, the Student Council formed a Teacher Ap- preciation Committee to honor the teachers each month. The council provided brunches, ice cream socials, coupons for student service, spirit buttons, and season get-togethers to express their feelings of gratitude for the teachers' dedication. The Council also aided the teachers during registration, mock scbedules, and in any other way that they could be of assistance. Along with their willingness to serve Trinity, the Student Council felt it was necessary to aid their surrounding community. This was evident through safety programs, visiting Senior Citizens, and by the organization of a Christmas party for needy children. Stu- dent Council is indeed an organization that cares deeply for their school while also being extremely concerned about their community. Opposite page: Top Row: Senior Randy Davis. J X10 I Dedicating themselves to a united purpose, the Trinity High School Student Council this year provided numerous op- portunities for student participation. During the excitement of football season in the fall, the Student Council diligently worked, combining their efforts, to produce a tremendous homecoming week. Starting weeks ahead of time, they organized committees to plan for the homecoming ac- tivities, which included planning the homecoming dance, devising the Flaming T, and the organization of the homecoming parade. Unfortunately for the students, rainy weather caused the cancellation of the parade and the postponement of the Flaming T until Bell week. The Student Council also provided Trinity students with holiday activities during Christmas and Valentine's Day. Stu- dent Council members were often seen in the cafeteria sell- ing Christmas cards and Christmas carols, Valentine's Day kiss-o-grams and sing-o-grams, but the excitement came during the day of delivery with a surprise kiss during second period. Within the halls the holiday spirit that the Student Council contributions made were seen in the excitement of the student body and the cooperation and participation of the teachers.
