Thirteen members and four sponsors made up the 1981-82 Rodeo Club. The club met every Tuesday night to discuss plans for upcoming rodeos, to come up with fund raising ideas, and to talk about their club picnic. Members kept busy by asking area businesses to sponsor local rodeo events. They also sold lottery tickets to HEB residents for a free side of beef. To make sure projects ran smoothly officers were chosen. They were: Pres: Jackie Bynum, V. Pres: Doreen Zaremba, Sec: Elaine Thomes, and Serg. at Arms: Gerald Maynard. The most active time of the year came during the fourth weekend in February. That was when the club sponsored the Trinity High School Rodeo at Alta Vista Arena. The three day event had to be organized with precise skill. This skill was displayed as programs were printed, livestock was ordered and sponsors were found. The Rodeo Club suc- cessfully came through as the rodeo proved to be a tremen- dous accomplishment. The Trinity High School Rodeo was a perfect example of how a group of people could get together and accomplish their goals through hard work. It was symbolic of the club's determination that it represented Trinity in its usual superb manner. Opposite page, above right: Future Rodeo club members practice roping.
