mv , r ff , . Despite the fact that this was to be a rebuilding year, the Trojans gymnastics team made an incredible comeback after losing ten seniors from 1981's 2nd place state team. This team was a young one, consisting of only two senior competitors, Stephen Lee and Harvey Williams. Mr. Jerry Milan ws the men's coach. His all-arounders were Senior Stephen Lee and junior Grant Qualls. The most consistent scorers in each event were as follows: Floor Exercise - Grant Qualls and sophomore Damon Cunningham: Side Horse - junior John Singletary and Damon Cunningham: Rings - Stephen Lee and Grant Qualls: Vault - Grant Qualls and Stephen Lee: Parallel Bars - junior Tom Croxen and Harvey Williams: High Bar - junior Rocky Lopresti and Grant Qualls. Mr. Milan said his men were constantly building and, though they were a young team, will hopefully become a top contender in the years to come. Although the Trojans did not go to state as a team, they did have individual qualifiers. Those who qualified were: Stephen Lee on rings and Rodney Frazier on floor exercise.
