As the district meet approached the team swam through it with accustomed ease, coming out on top. At Regionals the boys' team did a double take from the district meet, placing first, second, and sometimes third in most events. This terrific performance gained them the regional title. The girls, with limited team members, placed third. The combin- ed score of both girls and boys outdistanced all other com- petitors. The performances at Regionals qualified eleven swimmers for Austin's state meet. The boys' 200 yard medley relay consisted of Tim McDonald, John Sepanski, Guy Page, and Greg Crouch. The boys' 400 free relay included Tim McDonald, Jim Brigman, Tom Ottoson, and Joe Kalbfleish. John Sepanski and Joe Kalbfleish also qualified in the 100 yard butterfly while Tim McDonald swam the 100 yard backstroke in addition to the relay. The girls' 400 yard freestyle relay included Denise Dansby, Kim Barnett, Lisa Hingst, and Ginger Christian. Opposite page above left: Coach Stroble talks with manager Linza Valk.
