The Trojan Cagers started off the second half of district play on a good note with victories over Nimitz and lrving behind the scoring of Willie Henderson. The Trojans then went on to meet Duncanville in the closest game of the season. Although Trinity played an excellent game, they were unable to overcome the pressure of a triple-overtime, and lost the game 56-45. Following this crucial loss, Trinity could not recapture their competitive spirit as they dropped their next three games to Grand Prairie, South Grand Prairie, and MacArthur. The Trojans closed out the season with a heartbreaking loss to L.D. Bell. The Varsity Cagers, under the instruction of Coach Paul lngle, concluded the year with a 7- 7 district record and an excellent season record of 22-12. There were also several individual successes among the team. Both Rick Ford and Paul Rice were chosen to the Se- cond Team All-District, while Willie Henderson and Walt Zartman received Honorable Mention for district play. Trinity's Varsity Basketball Team kept in tradition with past Trojan teams by acquiring outstanding records and by demonstrating sportsmanship and competitive play throughout the season.
