I-Ialtorn 65, Trinity 62 Cut short by the clock, a Trojan comeback effort against the Haltom Buffaloes resulted in another close defeat in zone play. Haltom had the lead from the onset, leaving the Trojans to play come-from-behind basketball. Outgunned immediately by the Buffalo offenses, the Trojans overcame that large point deficit and finally closed the gap to two points, a feather in the offense cap considering the team was behind 12 points at the half. lt was to no avail though, as Haltom took the clash 65-62. Dean Krause and Robert Hertberg provided the Trinity explosive third quarter with Krause scoring 14 points followed by David Bohannon with 11. Trinity 75, Castleberry 47 The victory over the Lions pulled the Trojans within a half game of the district South-Zone co-leaders, Richland and Haltom. The Trojans emerged with a 15-9 lead at the end of the first period and by second quarter's end - had increased the lead to 42-28. The Trojans iced the cake by scoring 15 points in the last four minutes of play with the resulting score of 75-47. Four Trojans scored in double figures. Kevin Lee pumped in 15 points, Eddie Massie and Rusty Beam each had 12 points, and Mark Griffith scored 11. Richland 73, Trinity 45 The Trojans were intimidated by a fierce Richland Rebel defense plus opportunistic scoring by the men from the south in falling in a crucial zone contest 73-45. Trinity was leading 8-6 when Richland went on a scoring rampage -leading by the second quarters end 22-8. Trinity never recovered from a disastrous halftime score -44 for Richland, 15 for Trinity. The gap stayed at the thirty point level throughout the second half with Richland on top 73-45. David Bohannon led Trinity scoring with 13 points followed by Kevin Lee with 10. Bell 58, Trinity 57 After eight minutes of exciting basketball, Trinity seemed to have L. D. Bell's Blue Raiders in control with the score 23-12, Trinity's favor. However, Bell put together a comeback which saw the Trinity lead sag to just three points. With the final period of play left, Bell took the lead 48-47. The duration of the fourth quarter saw the score see-saw between the clubs with a resulting one point victory for L. D. Bell. Kevin Lee was the top Scorer for the Trojans with 16 points, followed by Shane Keil and Paul Lemmons with 12 and 10 respectively. Kevin Lee in preparation to spring in for two more points.
