So competition provides a means for trying, with the outcome failure or success. Generally, competition is related to various sporting endeavors. For example, the THS yearbook contains only sporting competition in its section Competition, But perhaps competition is born with us. One would doubt that Ben Franklin ever participated in organized sports, but to label Franklin a non-competitor would be a faux pas. Franklin competed with his mind. Competition involves us all. Each day abilities are measured against abilities, whether it be on an athletic field or a classroom. This measure results in success or failure - but competition does not stop at this point. Failure must pick itself up and strive again while success must never be satisfied with status quo. Competition is perpetual.
