X., Although it is not required, the cheerleaders usually attend some type of camp in the summer to learn new cheers, new pep rally skits and different ways to promote spirit among the students. This year they attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, where they were awarded ribbons: three superior and one excellent. They also were honored by receiving the spirit stick four times, and being first runner up for the award of excellence. A new item brought home by the 75- 76 cheerleaders was the Spark Plug, an award decided by fellow cheerleaders who vote on the squad that displayed the most sipirit and leadership t roughout the five days at camp. Cheerleaders this year are Coleen Houston, Tammy Kranz, lo Harp, Beth Evans, lan Guest, Michelle Monroe, and lenny Montgomery. lucky ladies. . .
