Y.C.W. tYoung Christian Womenj got off to a great start this year with almost eighty members. Y.C.W. sponsored three outdoor picnics and parties for the M.B.I. children at Stonegate Elementary. Gifts and tray favors were made at Christmas and Thanksgiving for elderly patients in local rest homes. At the end of the year, Y.C.W. sponsored the Miss Ugly contest which drew quite a crowd to set up an interesting tradition at Trinity. Sponsors are Betty Karlick, Lois Nixon, and Becky Steppe. Celeta Strahan and Debbie lohnston aid in serving at a M.B.l. picnic. The group is made up of students who are proud and interested in their Texas heritage and want to find out more about the historical background of the people and places of Texas. During the year, club members assisted in the collection of books, documents and other information about the H.E.B. area history. Putting together pieces of the past answered the question, why is Texas the way it is?
