Maihemaiics The purpose of the mathematics curriculum is two- fold: to provide the students with the neces- sary understanding and skill in dealing with the quantitative aspects of life and to make available to the college-bound students courses that will structure the background necessary for many of to- day 's technical fields of study. Every mathematics classroom is equipped with an overhead projector and adequate chalkboard space with painted-on graphs. Math teachers have available to them a variety of mathematics teach- ing aids and supplies including chalkboard drawing instruments, overhead transparencies, demonstra- tion math tables, and miscellaneous visual aids. Several math teachers are currently involved in formulating a programmed course of study for se- lected areas in mathematics whereby the student can work at his own rate with teac'her's supervision Use of the overhead is made by Mrs. Dolbow. ff X, Mrs. Giesler teaches methods of solving geometry problems.
