The sport of freestyling and skateboarding was a fast paced trend which caught the eyes of ' many Trinity High students during the 1985-86 school year. R.L. Osborn and Bob Haro introduced freestyling to the residents of California during the mid 70's. It became a major sport on the west coast and developed into afaoorite pastime of teenagers throughout the country. Students were caught performing three dzfkrent rides. Park riding was achieved in 5 special in-ground pools. Ramp riding was performed on small ramps and Hnally, some students just did ground tricks. Riders like Elliott Orr and jeff H ill used their bikes to ex- ecute such tricks as aerials, kickturns, and balance tricks. . Skateboarding also required a lot if agility to perform tricks. The popular brands of boards N were made by Sims, Varzflex, and Madrid. Skateboarders performed such tricks as s 36O's and handplants. Hugh Turbeyjqll, Greg Monroe, and Shan Malphurs were only a few ofthe many TI-IS students who enjoyed b riding skateboards. F rzsbee flying was yet another flashy hobby that caught the eyes of many students. ' Cars were in abundance at Trinity High School for the I 985-86 school year. Some were new and shiny and others were old and dull. They all had one thing I in common, they got their passengers to school. Some students had personalized license plates. One always knew when Scott Allen was at school hecause 'fIABBA was parked in the senior parking lot. F T L A E Of all the cars that were driven to school each day, no two were the same.
