Crisp fall air and girls in wool skirts, football, the crowd’s wild excitement or tense anticipation, bright colors, people and good times worth re- membering—this is Homecoming time. Rewarding was the well- fought victory. Inspiring was the Western Carolina band. Lovely were the queen and her court. Tough were our boys. Fun. Home- coming time Sandra Underwood, Senior Attendant.

Exciting events complete the Homecoming Day with bands, and floats, and lovely atten- dants. From twenty representatives, five girls were chosen, the queen and her attendants, four. In the lower left picture is the Junior Attendant, Annette Boggs; in the upper right is Janie Smith, Sophomore Attendant; and Janet Frye, Freshmen Atten- dant in the lower right. Bringing together the old and the new is Homecoming, a gay, sentimental time. For the new, it’s exciting. For the old, it is a time when acquaintances meet and memories are recalled. On page 11, top picture is our marching band. Middle left picture is a 10 winner, Junior Float. Below the class winner is the club winner, the Student Council float. To the right lovely Jean Boylen rides in the parade.
