As the sophomore and junior years passed, faces became names, names be- came faces, and class leaders began to emerge gradually from the obscurity of numbers. Then came the final year with its varied hopes, ideas, and plans. It was a year of dignity mingled with responsibility and prolonged work for those Seniors who contributed so much to Trinity High. Where pencils are seldom laid aside and seldom does silence reign is Mrs. Shirley Johnson’s room for reporters—the journalism class. Meeting the deadline and trying to publish one of the best school newspapers in the school’s history, the class works endlessly. Succeeded have they. The newspaper this year had a colorful crew, who felt that an enjoyable atmosphere was as important to putting out a healthy newspaper as fact gathering and objective reporting. The staff succeeded in giving the students a “worthwhile” newspaper. ike ieee Editorial staff members Phil Bouldin, Ronnie Kitchen, Suzanne Goforth, and Gwendolyn Scotton work with Vonda Brady. 33 The TRINHIAN planning began in the early spring of 1967 for the 1968 annual. Sales began in September of °67. When’s the TRINHIAN coming out? This question rang in the ears of all staff members. The TRINHIAN is a special book. For some, it is a means of identifying that someone special or even one’s self. An early deadline caused pandemonium among the staff who inter- mittently panicked, griped, and pounded typewriters. They struggled with horizontal pictures which had to fit into vertical spaces. They fought the January snow. Many events could not be recorded, for the book was on the press in January. The final deadline was in February and our work was completed. May came and so did the TRINHIAN. With the student’s approval, the staff members smiled with a feeling of satisfaction and pride. Their work had not been in vain! Editor Waiva Mickey ponders over change of pic- tures and the resulting copy.
