The Riches of the English Tongue The story of the English language begins about 15 hundred years ago with Hengist and Horso, warriors from Germany who came to Britain, bringing the English lan- guage with them. They came to fight for Britain's king, Vortigern, against the Picts, But when the Germanic soldiers—Angles, Saxons, and Jutes—saw what good land Britain was and how weak the country was, they began to fight against Vortigern to take the land for themselves. That early Anglo-Saxon tongue that migrated to MRS, GURNEY PEACE England was not at all like its great-great-grandchild A.B. from High Point College which we speak today. State College The F.F.A,. is a national organization throughout the United States, The primary aim of the Future Farmers of America is the development of agricultural leadership, co-operation and citizenship. The colors of the F.F.A. are National Blue and Corn Gold. The motto consists of only four lines, but these lines are filled with practical philosophy reflecting a spirit and sincerity that shows the true view point of farm youth.
