Larry Saunders Even though Larry is quiet, he neverrefuses anyone a favor. Athletic Association 1,2,3; Baseball 1,2,3,4; Football 1,2,3; F.F.A, 1,2,3,4; Basketball Manager 2,3; Bus Driver 3; T-Club 4; Public Speaking Club 4. Donald Foster Donald takes things as t hey come but doesn't let them slide by him unnoticed. (High Point) Monogram Club 3; Junior Varsity Basketball 3; Boys Glee Club 3; Messiah 3; Cheerleader 3; Pointer Play 2; Parade Committe 1,2,3; Prom Committee 1,2,3;Pep Club 4; (Trinity) Public Speaking Club 4: Glee Club 4, Cass Atstory September, 1948, a certain group of rowdy youngsters entered the Freshman Class, They were shy and confused, yet thrilled at their first taste of High School. Their advisors were Miss Valeria Mendenhalland Mr.E. W. Welborn Jr. September 1949, we the Sophomores re- turned to school ready to startthe Ball Mov- ing. Our home room teachers were Miss Davis and Miss May. Class Officers were: Presidents, Jr. Robbins and Barbara Menden- hall; Vice Presidents; Billy Scoggins and Bobby White; Secretaries, Betty Loflin and Bobbie English; and Treasurers, Betty Loflin and Janice Rich. Class rings were ordered and various parties were held, The high lightof the ,year was the Freshman-Sophomore Prom. Our Junior year -- 1950-51, proved to be an eventful one. Mrs, Rothrock and Mrs. Sprye were our home room teachers, Class officers were President: Jr. Robbins, Vice Pres. Kay Andrews, Secretary: Betty Cumby, and Treasurer: Donna Welborn. The arrival of class rings was anexciting date. In order to sponsor the Junior-Senior Banquet, the Juniors had to have several financial projects such as, the book store, selling of candy, and the Sadie Hawkins Dance, The banquet was held on the Bali- nese Roof Garden, Hotel Robert E. Lee, in Winston Salem. A night we will long re- member! Douglas Foster Being a well-liked person on the campus; his charming per- sonality captivates one. (High Point) Class Treas, 1; Parade Comm, 1-3; Prom Comm, 2; Pointer Play 2; Pep Club 3; Cheerleader 3; Messiah 3; Boy's Glee Club 3;Jr. Varsity Basket- ball 3; Monogram 3; (Trinity) Dramatics Club 4; Glee Club 4; Public Speaking Club 4. Robert Albertson Cheerfulness and congeni- ality among his classmates have won for Robert many TmendS welche verse a The Junior play Don't Darken My Door,” was last in the exciting events. Many hours of hard work and pleasure were spent on it. August 28, 1951, the Senior Class returned to a new school building, new principal and old and new teachers, Mrs, Peace found herself the homeroom teacher of 53 young students who were looking forward to the events in the coming year and hoping to walk away with a diploma signifying their achievements, Our officers were elected as follows: President: Kay Andrews; Vice Pres,: C, H. Tuttle; Secretary: Barbara Menden- hall; and Treasurer: Freddie Mosley. Doris Jean Wall and Jimmy Hancock walked away with the honor as King and Queen winners at the Harvest Festival, The Home Coming Queen was none otherthan June Royals from the Senior Class. The selling of stationery proved to be a big success toward refilling the Hole in our class treasurer. October 19th proved to bea rainey but joyous day which we seniors spent at the Morehead Planetarioum at Chapel Hill, Our D.A.R. Good Citizen was Doris Ann Davis. Student Council President, was Doris Ann Davis and our class room representative was Charlie Fletcher. November 26, 1951 we chose our superlatives, December 19, Mrs, Peace gave us a Christmas party in the Home Ec, Building, which we enjoyed very much, May 1, 1952 the seniors arrived bright and early to take their long awaited trip to visit our Nations Capitol in Washington, D, C. After 4 days of much enjoyment we returned Sunday evening May 4th. Our class colors are Wine and White; Class flower, the American Beauty Rose, Class motto Work,strive and Gain.” and our Mascots Barbara Hohn and Michael Hurley. As we look toward our commencement and the future which lies before us, we sincerely hope we can carry through what God has intended that we should and make our place in life, one worth remembering.
