L ,il Abner In November of 1969, the Trinity Dept. of Theatre Arts staged the musical-comedy Li'l Abner. The cast was com- prised of over one hundred students from Assumption, Sacred Heart, and Trinity, and played to near capacity crowds at St. Francis of Rome's Auditorium. Anthony Lukes portrayed the lead role of Li'l Abner. Oth- er members of the cast were: Joe Wight as Pappy Yokum, Tom Pursley - Marryin' Sam, Tom Johnson - General Bull- moose, Terry Hancock - Senator Phogbound, Kevin Martin - Dr. Finsdale, Neal Oliphant - Evil Eye Fleagle, Tom Murdock - Available Jones, and Guistino Dattilo - Earth- quake McGoon. Leading female roles were played by Janice Medina as Daisy Mae, Anne Scheen - Mammy Yokum, Barbara Baldwin - Appasionata von Climax, and Connie Hartlage - Stupefyin' Jones, all from Sacred Heart. Q Li'l Abner was produced and directed by Fr. Theodore Sans. Choreography and costume selections were handled by Mrs. Margo Goodwin. Charles Bennett designed the set, Fr. Albert Moore directed the set construction, and Mr. C . I.
