IN MEM ORIAM ln memory of the first student at Trinity High School to pass away, THE SHAM- ROCK offers the following article which appeared in Vol. Ill, No. I of THE ECHO, September 28, T956 . . . Trinity High Senior, I6 year old Irvine Kaelin, of former Room 303, died of leukemia after a short illness on August 24, 7956. He was born on October 29, 1939, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Kaelin. Neither Irvine nor his parents knew of his incurable disease until last May when his parents were informed by the doctors. He suffered very little during the summer, but on August I8 he took ill and was taken to St. Anthony Hospital. After receiving the last sacraments he died at 7:00 a.m. Friday, August 24. His body lay in state at Bosse Funeral Home where the Rosary was said for the repose of his soul by many of his schoolmates. His Funeral Mass was celebrated by Rev. John Grenough at St. Frances of Rome Church on Monday, August 27. After the Mass, which was attended by several members of the faculty, incldding Monsignor Steinhauser, Father Schwartz preached the sermon. When asked to comment on lrvine's death Father Schwartz said, l informed Irvine that he was very near death on Saturday, August 185 and he received my words courageously. He showed that he was resigned to God's will and was well prepared for a happy death.
