Freshman Orientation A freshman ' s acquaintance with Trinity begins with a week of orientation consist- ing of matters pertaining to all aspects of college life to come— social, religious, and academic. Amid the confusion of unpack- ing and learning new directions, thp new arrivals, wearing traditional crew hats and identification badges, attend Mass and meals, meet in groups to become familiar with the college clubs and functions, and participate in many aptitude tests. On Sunday, the class trip to Stowe is high- lighted by a chicken barbecue after a day of riding the chair lift or climbing the scenic slopes. The week terminates with a big sister-little sister banquet at the Ho- tel Vermont. 28 Eat, drink and be merry

Tassel Night How we love the halls of ivy The gavel . . . symbol of authority Dignity, sentiment, and humor combine to make a pleasant program on Tassel Night— the final gathering of the entire student body— which is designed as a formal farewell from each class to the graduating sen- iors. The graduates review some of the outstanding events of their college years, and they are the object of songs dedicated to them by each class. At the same time, the Tassel Night ceremony marks a forward step in the life of every underclassman. With the turning of the tassels, each girl is rewarded with the knowledge that all her efforts during the past years were not in vain. The seniors take a final look at the good old days and turn toward a new life; never to forget the immeasurable value of their days at Trinity. Seniors we hate to see you go
