Elementary Departmental Awards Hope receives the math award. We did it!! Each year the elementary school awards those students who have displayed excellence both in academics, athletics, and service. Art: Alison Glass Band Truett Weber, Carolyn Whitaker Bible: Edie Beth Ehrler English: Darren Sides History: Amy Amend Mathematics: Hope Rountree Music: Mike Davidson. Traci Karlstad Reading: Jenny Deffinbaugh Science: Sara Grasso President’s Fitness Award: Blake Anderson. Josh Burford. Jane Redfern. Hope Rountree Science Fair Winners The Science Fair winners. On April 9th the Fourth and Sixth graders participated in the Science Fair. Each child was required to devise an entry that was experimental in nature. The only other specific criteria was that they use the Scientific Method to reflect their project. Each child came up with a problem, formed a hypothesis, evaluated the evidence, and formed a conclusion. The Science Fair was judged by a number of impartial judges. Each project showed the student’s individual effort and was judged accordingly. Third row: Kristi Waples, Virginia Hull, Christen Crews. Brent Johnson. Kris Maples. Joanna Deffin- baugh. Dawn Metcalf, Jonathan Ingram. Paige Nicholson Christen and Kristi “appreciate” art. Don and Kris at D-Art Show. With the establishment of the Trinity chapter of the National Art Honor Society this past year. T.C.A. became a charter member of the National Art Education Association. A ceremony was held at the beginning of the year during which new members were in- ducted. The ceremony opened with a speech about the importance of art and the honor of being recognized as a member of the society. All members were chosen on the basis of character, service, and artistic achievement. During the year, the society helped in preparing for many different art shows; their biggest project being preparing for the D- Arl show. They are certainly a welcome additon to Trinity. 215
