Bart French Boys Tracksters The 1986 Varsity Boys track team was an exciting one to watch. The team had been a question mark due to the number of quality athletes who had graduated the year before. There were 23 athletes who fill- ed out the roster and each of them found some way to make a significant contribution to the team effort. The entire year was a concen- trated effort to qualify for state competition and finish as high as possible in the district meet; the Trojans were runners-up at district. In the state meet the team finished 4th out of 12 teams. The significant part of the year was our team’s ver- satility. When one person was unable to compete, another prepared athlete was ready to fill in for the team. So many ac- complishments were witnessed this year that space does not allow for listing. As a coach. I feel it was a most fulfilling year. Our future looks bright as many underclassmen did quite well. Thank you for a tremendous season. 170 Coach Bob King Mo Sheats takes the lead.

TAPS State Champions The Varsity Girls Track Team experienced a number of successes Ihis past season. Three T.C.A. tracksters are TAPS stale champions. Kcllv Morrone (triple jump). Kim Goodrich (1600). and Denise Ramirez (long jump) A number of other individuals plac- ed in the top six in the state, and this total team effort allowed the Lady Trojans to finish 4th The girls emerged as champions at the district meet and the Tom Landry In- vitational. This would not have been possible without the fine performances of both the track and the field competitors. Throughout the season, it was evident that these athletes were bringingglory to God as they dedicated their efforts to Him. As a team we would like to acknowledge and thank Mr George Cobb for his inspira- tion and coaching expertise. Also deserving of our thanks are the Varsity Boys track coaches. Bob King and Dave LaPrairie. and the many TCA parents who attended our meets. Coach Kathy Flaherty 172
