Wrestlers Finish Sixth in Nation It was another good year for the TSJC wrestling team, although there were a few maior disappointments. The Trojans of coach Ron Dalley again turned in a fine dual meet record, T2-2-l, and placed high in the national tournament. TSJC also shut out three opponents. Disappointing was Trinidad's loss of the Empire Conference- title and two dual meets to Northeastern. Also disappointing was the finish in the nationals Kas compared to last year's secondj and TSJC's failure to have a l969 individual champion. But the good points far out-numbered the bad. Dalley got some great individual efforts from such matmen as Ken Scott,,Wayne Hiles, Raven Bean, Donald Evans, Larry Nolen, Terry Anders, Steve Arnold, Bob Shelby, Sam Salupo, LeRoy Moreno, George Lloyd, David Doyle and B. D. LaPrad. Anders, defending national champion at 145, and T77-pounder Shelby topped the team with T7-2 marks, while Nolen went ll-2, Moreno T0-2 and Salupo 8-2-l. No wrestler on the team had more than five losses. Shelby led the squad in pinfalls, with 13. Evans and Shelby led TSJC in the nationals by picking up third places, with Arnold coming in sixth. Anders and Nolen were iniured, hurting the Troian team-title chances.
