In him they have found a lriend, one who understands them and wishes them well. They are sincerely grateful for all that has been offered them through his efforts. THE DIREIITHR Throughout the four years in which the graduates ol '48 have been acquiring the knowledge and skills which will enable them to give cr creditable performance in the wider arena of world affairs, Mr. Mertz has given to every phase ol their training a wise and generous assistance without which their interest and ac- complishment would have been greatly lessened.
