Chenea Columnist J. Clifford Milnor and broadcaster Hillard Gates were honored by Tri-State College at commencement exercises Saturday, December 14. Milnor, who writes for the Journal- gazette, received a Doctor of Humane Letters degree. Gates, vice-president and general manager of the WKJG stations, was given the Doctor of Public Service degree. Dr. Paul F. Chenea, science director of Research Laboratories at the General Motors Technical Center, Warren, Mich., was the commencement speaker who re- ceived the honorary Doctor of Engineer- ing Science degree. Tri-State College conferred the Bache- lor of Science degree of Business Ad- ministration on 134 December and March graduates. The ceremony was at lO:OO Eastern Standard Time in the An- gola High School Gymnasium. Dr. Chenea was vice-president for academic affairs at Purdue University before he ioined General Motors Cor- poration last year.
